CRESWELL AND RICHARDSON ANNOUNCE MERGER
PRESS RELEASE
APRIL 10, 2009
CRESWELL AND RICHARDSON ANNOUNCE MERGER
Two
of the best-known names in Chattanooga’s industrial distribution
community have joined forces to become the premier supplier for power
transmission, electrical automation/panel building, and mechanical and
electrical engineered solutions.
As a
result, the company has decided to merge operations and operate out of
Richardson’s current facility on Appling Street in Chattanooga. The
consolidation took place on April 10, 2009.
The new combined company, “Creswell Richardson,” is a one-stop supplier.
The
timing is perfect for this combination, as Chattanooga reemerges as the
industrial center of the Mid-South with the construction of the VW
facility and the welcoming of its key suppliers, as well as the
expansion of Alstom and others.
Creswell Richardson offers the broadest array of products and services for the Tri-State Area’s manufacturing firms.
Included
in the merger are Tech Craft Automation and Creswell ETO Systems that
provide customized electrical, power transmission, and mechanical
engineering solutions.
The companies,
founded in the early 1970’s, are quite compatible due to a shared
commitment to quality and customer service. As big consolidators buy up
independent distributors across the region, there is still a great need
for strong locally-owned suppliers.
Bob
Creswell, founder of Creswell Industrial, remarks, “Customer service
and quality products have always been our focus. I think this will be a
great merger for our customers and suppliers.”
Cave
Richardson, founder of Richardson Electric and Tech Craft Automation,
says, “Our real advantage is our people. Creswell Richardson will have
the finest staff in the region. We have similar approaches—we treat our
employees like family and for that we have enjoyed tremendous loyalty
over the years.”
Rob Creswell, the
company’s president states, “I am very excited about this opportunity.
For quality and service, I don’t believe there is a stronger team in
the industrial and electrical industry in Chattanooga.”
